How to Configure IPRoyal Shared ISP Proxies
Once your order is confirmed, go to your ISP Proxies dashboard and click on your order.
This will give you access to the ‘Proxy details’ section.
You can easily manage credentials, protocols, authentication, and other proxy settings from the intuitive dashboard. Below, we’ll walk through the most important ones.
Select the Proxy Protocol and Port
In the ‘Protocol’ (1) section, choose the protocol you prefer: HTTP|HTTPS or SOCKS5. The default port is 12323 for HTTP/HTTPS and 12324 for SOCKS5, but you can customize these in the ‘Port’ (2) section if needed. Any protocol or port changes you make will automatically update the ‘Formatted Proxy List’.
Select the Credentials Format
Choose the preferred credentials format (3) to make sure your Shared ISP Proxies integrate seamlessly with your tools. The Formatted Proxy List will update automatically based on your selection.
How to Use the Formatted Proxy List
Once you configure your proxies, you can start using them with your automation tools, software, browser extensions, and more.
To get started, click the ‘Copy list’ (1) button to copy your proxy credentials to the clipboard.
Next, click the ‘Test now’ (2) button to open the IPRoyal Proxy Tester. This will automatically launch the free built-in tool, allowing you to verify your proxy configuration, connectivity, and speed. It’s a quick and reliable way to make sure your proxies work as intended before integrating them into your workflow.
Make sure the protocol (3) and format (4) match your Formatted Proxy List. Paste your proxy list or sessions in the input field (5) and click the ‘Begin test’ (6) button.
The test results for each IP will appear instantly.
For more details on making requests, see our Proxy String documentation.
How to Manage IPRoyal Shared ISP Proxies Authentication
With Shared ISP Proxies, authentication is done via username and password. IP whitelisting isn’t supported for shared proxies, but it’s available for Dedicated ISP Proxies.
Username/Password Authentication
Each shared ISP proxy comes with a username and password, which can be modified for easier proxy management. You can change your proxy credentials once per hour.
Find the ‘Change Proxies Credentials’ section and select the IPs you want to change in the ‘Proxy IP’ (1) field. If you want to apply the change to all IPs, click the ‘Select all’ (2) button.
Enter the new username in the ‘Username’ (3) field and the new password in the ‘Password’ (4) field. Ticking the ‘Random password’ (5) box will automatically generate a password for you.
Click the ‘Change credentials’ (6) button to confirm the changes. The ‘Reset credentials’ (7) button allows you to reset the username and password for selected IPs once per hour.
How to Manage IPRoyal Shared ISP Proxies Orders
Shared ISP Proxies are subscription-based with no minimum purchase requirements. You can order any number of IPs for the plan duration that works best for you, giving you the flexibility to start small and scale as needed.
Note that one-day plans do not renew automatically. To enable automatic renewal for one-day plans, or to modify or cancel any other subscription, go to the ‘Order details’ tab in your dashboard.
You can also manually extend your order from the ‘ISP Orders’ section. Click ‘Extend’ next to the relevant order and select the preferred plan.
For step-by-step instructions, see our Extending an Order documentation.
Please note that Shared ISP Proxies are governed by our Fair Usage Policy. Dedicated ISP Proxies remain operational at reduced speeds beyond 100 GB per IP, whereas Shared ISP Proxies are temporarily suspended once this threshold is reached.
